Gordian III, 238-244. Sestertius (Bronze, 28 mm, 20.01 g, 12 h), Rome, 240. IMP CAES M ANT GORDIANVS AVG Laureate, draped and cuirassed bust of Gordian III to right, seen from behind. Rev. AEQ[VI]TAS AVG / S - C Aequitas standing front, head to left, holding scales in her right hand and cornucopiae in her left. Cohen 19. RIC 267a. An attractive piece, clearly struck and with a beautiful brown patina. Very light deposits on the reverse, otherwise, extremely fine.
